Who We Are
ORANTA – Associação de Apoio à Comunidade Ucraniana em Portugal is a registered nonprofit organization active in the Algarve since 2022. We work in close cooperation with municipalities, fire brigades, schools, volunteers, and partner organizations.
Our mission is to support Ukraine through humanitarian action while helping Ukrainian families integrate, connect, and feel supported in Portugal.
Our Core Pillars
Humanitarian Aid
We organize and support humanitarian initiatives for Ukraine, including the Candles for Ukraine project, ambulance and vehicle donations, and the delivery of medical and emergency supplies.
Cultural & Community Events
We organize cultural festivals and public events that promote Ukrainian culture, solidarity, and connection between Ukrainian and Portuguese communities.
Civic & Consular Support
We support the organization of biannual mobile Ukrainian consular services in the Algarve, helping community members access essential documents and services locally.
Education & Integration
We support educational and cultural initiatives such as Ukrainian book corners in libraries and activities that help families and children integrate into local life.

Candles for Ukraine
Field candles made from recycled materials and sent to Ukraine for civilian and humanitarian use.
Ambulances for Ukraine
Donated ambulances and humanitarian vehicles delivered from Portugal to Ukrainian frontlines.
Festival Felizonda
Annual Ukrainian-Portuguese cultural festival in Lagos, combining culture, music, and fundraising.
Mobile Consular Services
Biannual Ukrainian consular service events organized in cooperation with consular authorities.
Community Solidarity Actions
Public events and symbolic actions promoting unity, awareness, and support for Ukraine.
